Rapid City vanquishes Arizona in shootout, 2-1 (3-0 SO)

Jared Brown scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Rapid City picked up the extra point in a 2-1 (3-0 SO) win over the Arizona Sundogs.The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. Rapid City's other shootout goals were scored by Brown and Jesse Schultz.
Rapid City came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Rapid City trailed 1-0 after a goal by Arizona's Riley Emmerson at 2:02 in the third period. Rapid City knotted things up at 1-1 on a power play goal by Kevin Harvey at 6:13 in the third period.
Rapid City was led by goalie Tim Boron, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Boron certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.49 entering the contest.
The 36 shots that Rapid City put on net surpassed Rapid City's average of 31.7 shots per game this season.
By firing 28 shots on goal, the Sundogs exceeded the 19.7 shots they average per game this year. Arizona's defensemen bolstered the Sundogs' offensive attack, as they bombarded Boron with 13 shots.
