Brampton wins tough contest against Missouri, 4-3

The game between the Brampton Beast and the Missouri Mavericks was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Brampton emerged with a 4-3 win.
Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Scotty Howes's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.
The Beast got the win with help from a great game by Howes, who had two goals and one assist. Howes scored the first of his two goals at 7:51 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brampton. Rob Collins picked up the assist. Howes' next tally made the score 4-3 Brampton with 8:42 left in the third period. Jamie VanderVeeken assisted on the tally.
The 39 shots that Brampton put on net surpassed the Beast's average of 23.9 shots per game this season.
Brampton also got points from Collins, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Brampton also got a goal from Josh McQuade as well. In addition, Brampton received assists from Jason Pitton, who had two and Dylan Quaile and Tylor Michel, who each chipped in one.
Kristofer Westblom recorded 24 saves for Brampton. The Beast incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Mavericks' Shane Owen stopped 35 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Missouri incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
