The Denver Cutthroats and the Tulsa Oilers both failed to score in overtime, but Denver won the game 3-2 (3-2 SO) after Steve Kaunisto's deciding goal in the shootout.The two teams needed 36 turns to complete the shootout. Tulsa got shootout goals from Thomas Beauregard and Ben Gordon. In addition to the clincher, the Cutthroats got shootout goals from TJ Fox and Garrett Bembridge.
Denver overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Cutthroats trailed 2-0 after a goal by the Oilers' Ryan Cramer at 1:45 in the second period. Denver tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by A.J. Gale at 9:27 in the third period.
