Allen rips Wichita, 5-2

The Wichita Thunder had trouble finding ways to stop the Allen Americans, which beat Thunder, 5-2.
With the win, Allen evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.
The Americans were led by goalie Aaron Dell, who finished with 36 saves while allowing one goal. Dell managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.55 prior to the game.
Allen also got a goal from Chris Doyle as well. More assists for Allen came via Jason Deitsch, who had two, Darryl Bootland, who had three, and Tyler Ludwig, Mike Berube, and Anthony Maiani, who each chipped in one.
Wichita's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Allen power plays. The Thunder's defensemen bolstered Wichita's offensive attack, as they bombarded Dell with 18 shots. The Thunder's offense rang up 41 shots on the Americans' net.
Wichita was helped by RG Flath, who racked up one goal. Flath scored 10:03 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nathan Lutz picked up the assist. Wichita also got points from Lutz, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita were Ian Lowe, Jon Madden, and Matt Robinson, who contributed one a piece.
Allen ended with 68 minutes in penalty time with 19 minors and six majors. Torrie Jung took the loss and made 11 saves before being replaced by Kevin Regan who made five saves. The Thunder totaled 94 minutes in penalty time with 17 minors and six majors and went 1-for-10 on the power play.
