Wichita blows out Missouri, 6-2

The Wichita Thunder had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Missouri Mavericks.
Ian Lowe had a great game for Wichita, netting two goals. Lowe scored at 10:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wichita and again while 11:50 into the first to make the score 2-0 Wichita.
The Thunder bested their season scoring average. Wichita averages 3.5 goals per game. The defense for the Thunder played an important role offensively, racking up 16 shots on goal. Wichita put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.5 it averages per game.
Wichita also got points from Neil Trimm, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Wichita also got a goal from Chad Painchaud as well. More assists for Wichita came via Andrew Martens, who had two, Matt Robinson, who had three, and David Inman, Matt Summers, Jon Madden, Les Reaney, and Nathan Lutz, who contributed one a piece.
Torrie Jung made 18 saves for the Thunder on 20 shots. Wichita totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Missouri took out Ryan Daniels after he had made 24 saves and installed Mike Clemente in goal, where he finished with nine saves and the loss. The Mavericks totaled 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Missouri, Colt King was ejected from the game.
