Tulsa uses shootout to best Allen, 2-1 (2-1 SO)

Sean Erickson scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Tulsa Oilers picked up the extra point in a 2-1 (2-1 SO) win over the Allen Americans.The shootout featured 20 attempts between both teams. Allen got a shootout goal from Kale Kerbashian. In addition to the clincher, Tulsa got a shootout goal from Drew Fisher.
The Oilers overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Tulsa was down 1-0 after a power play goal by the Americans' Jamie Schaafsma at 5:08 in the first period. The Oilers tied things up at 1-1 on a goal by Ryan Menei at 11:39 in the first period.
Allen was stymied by Tulsa netminder Shane Madolora, who stopped 44 shots during the victory. Madolora managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.12 prior to the game.
