Allen beats Tulsa 5-1 as Schaafsma gets hat trick

A hat trick by Jamie Schaafsma was the highlight in Americans' 5-1 win against the Tulsa Oilers.Schaafsma got on the scoresheet 6:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:31 into the second and at 19:25 into the second.
The Allen Americans were led by goalie Steve Silverthorn, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Silverthorn will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.73.
Allen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tulsa to score on any of its four power plays. The 28 shots that the Americans put on net surpassed Allen's average of 22.5 shots per game this season.

Tulsa was led by Michel Beausoleil, who dished out one assist.
