Missouri uses shootout to best Arizona, 4-3 (1-0 SO)
John-Scott Dickson scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Missouri Mavericks picked up the extra point in a 4-3 (1-0 SO) win over the Arizona Sundogs.The shootout lasted for 12 attempts between the teams.
Missouri overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Mavericks fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Arizona's Chad Nehring at 3:25 in the second period. Missouri tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jeff Kyrzakos at 19:47 in the third period.
The Mavericks were led by Kenton Miller, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Miller scored 5:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Arizona. Kellen Tochkin picked up the assist.
