Macaulay's goals lift Tulsa to 4-1 victory over Denver

B Macaulay had two goals to lead the Tulsa Oilers to a 4-1 victory over the Denver Cutthroats.

Macaulay scored at 8:01 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa and again while 16:09 into the first to make the score 3-1 Tulsa.

Tulsa was led by goalie Brad Fogal, who finished with 36 saves while allowing one goal. Fogal managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.81 prior to the game.

The Oilers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Tulsa was below its usual level of shot production, taking 20 shots compared to the 25.4 the Oilers average.

Tulsa additionally got points from Michel Beausoleil, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Adam Pleskach also scored for Tulsa. Other players who recorded assists for Tulsa were Kyle Bochek, who had three and Macaulay Macaulay, Ryan Menei, and Eric Tallent, who contributed one a piece.

Denver's offense rang up 37 shots on Tulsa's net.

The Cutthroats were led by Robin Soudek, who scored the team's only goal. Soudek scored 3:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Vincent Arseneau picked up the assist.

The Oilers totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Denver's Kent Patterson stopped 16 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Cutthroats ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
