Cavan's big game bests Bozeman in 7-1 Gillette win

The Gillette Wild's Tyler Cavan had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-1 win over the Bozeman Icedogs.

Cavan got on the scoresheet 2:12 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:58 into the third, at 6:50 into the third, and at 7:50 into the third.

Gillette forced Bozeman goalie Jude Hall to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots. The Wild's goal total was higher than their season average. Gillette averages 4.7 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Gillette additionally got points from Moco Willis, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Taylor Motsinger, who also registered one goal and two assists. Bobby Solari also scored for Gillette. In addition, Gillette received assists from Trent Dillinger, who had two and Tyson Loundagin, Steve Patafio, Adam Pecht, and Ethan Hicks, who each chipped in one.

The Icedogs were led by Spencer Hallin, who scored the team's only goal. Hallin scored 3:17 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Gillette. Tyler Elson provided the assist.

Sean Kelley recorded 24 saves for the Wild. Gillette totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Jude Hall made 47 saves for Bozeman on 54 shots. The Icedogs totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
