Chris joins a select group of three-year Knights as he returns for the 2012 season.
He was 1-0, 3.66 in 11 regular-season games in 2011, and finished the WCL Championship Series opener at Walla Walla with a perfect ninth inning. He also pitched six scoreless innings against the Portland Ports in his lone start.
Chris was a starter and reliever at Santa Clara in 2011 and was 3-6, 5.62 in 20 games, with 18 strikeouts in 57.2 innings.
Chris was 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA and had 35 strikeouts in 45.1 innings for the Knights in 2010.
Chris graduated from Branham High School in San Jose and he established new school records in career wins, single-season wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and ERA. He was a four-year letterman who was twice named a Valley Athletic League First-Team All-Star.
Chris was also a 2009 ESPN Rise All-Bay Area honoree, the 2008 South Bay representative and All-Star at the Rawlings NorCal World Series, and a 2008 San Jose Mercury News All-Area Honorable Mention All-Star.
In 2007, Chris was named the San Jose Mercury News 'Sophomore of the Year.'
