Jova spent the first six seasons of his professional career playing in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, reaching as high as AAA-Syrcause in 2006. He played for Yuma of the Golden League in 2007-08, Sussex of the Can-Am League in '09 and Chico of the Golden League in '10. Jova has hit over .300 in every year of his four-year Independent league run, including a career campaign in 2008 when he batted .359 with 22 doubles and 88 RBI in 84 games.
