Andrews saw limited action behind the plate for SDSU in 2010 and had just 29 at-bats. Following his freshman campaign, Andrews joined the Laramie Colts of the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League. With the Colts, Andrews hit for a .301 average in 25 games. He finished the summer season with 25 hits, 13 runs scored, 14 runs batted in, and a .439 on-base percentage.
As a senior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Wash., Andrews was named to the 4A first team after hitting for a .426 average with a pair of home runs and 18 runs batted in.
