Hauer, 24, joined the RailCats for the stretch run in 2010 after helping the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks knock of the ‘Cats in 2009 Northern League Championship Series. Hauer was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship Series after working in three of the four games and pitched a total of 8.0 innings, allowing just two earned runs and striking out seven. In the 2009 postseason, Hauer pitched a whopping 14.0 innings in six appearances and had a miniscule 1.29 ERA.
In 20 games with the RedHawks in 2010, Hauer pitched 47.2 innings and fanned 40 batters before being released towards the end of the season. The RailCats signed Hauer as a free agent in 2010 and look for him to return to Championship form in 2011.
