The Chicago Cubs selected Mark Prior with the second overall pick in the 2001 draft out of USC where he had won the Golden Spikes Award as the nation's top amateur player.  By 2002, he was pitching in the big leagues, leading the Cubs to the NLCS in 2003.  That season, Prior went 18-6 in 30 starts, earning a spot on the NL All-Star Team and finished 3rd in NL Cy Young Voting.  Prior spent five years in the big leagues from 2002-2006, all with the Cubs.
