Fargo-Moorhead bolstered the lineup this offseason with the acquisition of Tim Alberts from American Association foe Amarillo. Alberts last season batted .319 with 18 doubles, nine triples, 14 home runs, 73 RBIs and 70 runs scored in 100 games for Amarillo. He tied for the American Association lead in games played, was third in triples and total bases (208), fourth in at-bats (408) and fifth in hits (130). He was named the American Association batter of the week for May 28-June 3.
Alberts had just as impressive a season the year prior in his first season with the Amarillo squad. In 2011, Alberts batted .332 with 30 doubles, six triples, eight home runs, 72 RBIs and 59 runs scored, and was the American Association Player of the Month for June that season.
