Hajjar Named MAAC Rookie Of The Year; Nathans Named All-MAAC Second Team
2010: In his freshman campaign, Hajjar led all MAAC rookies by hitting .380 and set the Fairfield single season records for hits (76). Hajjar, who did not miss a single start at first base, was second on the team in RBI with 46 to go along with his 37 runs scored, 14 doubles, seven homeruns, and two triples. He also notched .575 slugging percentage and posted a .429 on-base percentage, reaching base in 45 of 50 games. Hajjar batted .404 in league games, scoring 30 runs while driving in 28. He only struck out 21 times in 200 at-bats.
Hajjar is Fairfield’s first MAAC Rookie of the Year since 1997 when Tom Lopusznick was named the MAAC South Rookie of the Year.
