Brent Rooker was not only a star high school baseball player in Tennessee, but he excelled at football and basketball as well. Rooker was a finalist for Tennessee’s Mr. Football Award by setting 18 school records. He also led his high school’s basketball and football teams to state title games. On the diamond, Rooker won two state championships with Evangelical Christian School, in 2011 and 2013. In his sophomore year, Rooker hit .380 with seven home runs and 45 RBIs in 29 games. His average jumped to .450 while knocking in 39 runs and swiping 19 bases the next year. In his senior year, Rooker’s average fell slightly to .430 with nine homers, 32 RBIs, and 23 steals as he led his team to the state title. Perfect Game ranked him as the fourth best third baseman in Tennessee. In 2012, Perfect Game named him as an Honorable Mention on its Underclassman All-American team. Senior year, Rooker was a Rawlings Southeast Region Honorable Mention and was a finalist for Tennessee Player of the Year.
