Bass has seven years of professional baseball experience, five of them in affiliated ball. He was a 21st round draft pick out of high school of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2007. Bass advanced as far as High Single-A with the Angels. He hit .270 or higher in four of his five seasons in affiliated ball, including a .289 batting average with Inland Empire of the California League in 2011. For the past two seasons, he's played for the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association, collecting a career high 53 RBI in 2012. The Freedom traded OF Byron Wiley to the T-Bones on December 30, 2013 in exchange for Bass.
