Weisenburger returns for his third summer as River Bat after his junior season with the Red Hawks. Last summer, the catcher hit .172 with one home run and 10 RBIs in 42 games and 128 at-bats. Weisenburger was the Bats primary backstop in 2008, appearing in 50 games behind home plate. Weisenburger posted a .252 average with 18 RBIs in 143 at-bats. That season the Plymouth, Minn., native was hit by a league-high 21 pitches and produced a .390 on-base percentage. As a sophomore at Miami of Ohio, the 5-9, 185-pound catcher hit .265 in 33 games. Weisenburger launched his first career Northwoods League home run June 29 in a 10-2 victory over Thunder Bay. The junior is currently an economics major. Through 50 games, 49 starts, with Miami of Ohio, Weisenburger is hitting .312 with five home runs and 45 runs batted in.
