As a junior in 2013, catcher Chris Travers appeared in 33 games at Roger Williams University and had 26 starts from behind the plate. Travers posted the third-highest on-base percentage at .392, and hit .269 on the season. In addition, he had a .990 fielding percentage while throwing out 12 base runners.In 2012, Travers finished the season third on the team in batting average, fourth in on-base percentage and slugging percentage, and fifth on the team with 13 RBIs and 31 hits. Defensively, he led the team with a .991 fielding percentage, and threw out 18 runners attempting to steal.At Apponenquet Regional High School, Travers was a member of the baseball team for four years, and was a two-time team captain. He was the Standard Times Player of the Year, and South Coast Conference MVP and Team MVP in 2011.
