A resident of New Haven, CT, Vin Guglietti did not have to travel far to college. After rewriting the record books at East Haven High School and being named to the All-State team in 2011 and All-Area teams in 2010 and 2011, at which he holds the school record for batting with a .531 average in his senior season in 2011, Guglietti went down to road to play at Quinnipiac. In his freshman year at Quinnipiac, Guglietti played in 46 games with 42 starts, hitting .276 with four doubles, one triple, and a home run. That season, Guglietti was the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on May 1, 2012 after a four-hit outing against Sacred Heart on Apr. 30, 2012. Guglietti was named to the NEC All-Conference Second Team as the designated hitter. Overall, Guglietti’s production increased in his second season in New Haven. Guglietti is the lone returning Pilgrim from 2013 to this season. Guglietti hit .270 with the Pilgrims last summer, good for third on the team. He also led the team in doubles (13); runs batted in (23), and came in second in home runs (2). Guglietti’s junior season was his best in his time at Quinnipiac. His average skyrocketed to .341 with 5 home runs and 38 RBIs. Guglietti won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 8th, hitting 6-9 with four RBI and six runs scored against Dartmouth and Niagara. In addition to his outstanding play on the field, he was dubbed as having the best hair on the 2013 Pilgrims roster by broadcaster Robert Masse, and was constantly referred to as a Beatle by his teammates.
