After a very successful high school career, Logan Koch decided to take his talents to Columbia, S.C. In high school, Koch was the No. 6 prospect in North Carolina and the No. 336 prospect in the country by Perfect Game USA. As a sophomore at South Mecklenburg High School, Koch hit .425 with five home runs and 40 RBIs. As a junior in 2012 Koch was named at the All-South team by the Charlotte News and was given Southwestern 4A All-League honors. In his senior year, South Mecklenburg won the class 4A state title. He just finished his first season at the University of South Carolina. In his freshman year, Koch hit .,286 with 1 RBI in 20 games for the Gamecocks. Defensively, Koch threw out 2 of 6 base stealers for an average of .750.
