Vincenzo Aiello started as a stand-out pitcher at Tottenville High School on Staten Island, N.Y. Aiello was twice awarded the Outstanding Pitcher Award while at Tottenville and was a New York City Mayor’s Cup All-Star during his senior season. During his junior year, Aiello earned a 4-0 record with a 1.10 ERA and struck out 11.13 batters per 9 innings. After graduating, Aiello enrolled at Rider University where he continues to pitch out of the bullpen. In his freshman year, Aiello appeared in 14 games, including one start for the Broncs. Aiello chalked up a 0-1 record with three saves for Rider. Aiello’s ERA was 4.50 and batters hit .297 against the righty. In his sophomore season, Aiello struggled a little more. In 19 appearances, Aiello’s ERA jumped to 4.10 with a batting average against of .282.
