Tyler spend the 2007 and 2008 season in the Golden Baseball League with stops in Chico and Yuma

In 2009, Tyler started the season with the Fort Worth Cats of the American Association and finished the season with the Rockford Riverhawks of the Frontier league.

Tyler attended Northern Colorado University.
