Born in the Dominican Republic, Sanchez was signed as an amateur free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1997. Sanchez played for a few major league clubs, but his most notable stint came with the New York Mets in 2006. He also earned eight saves as a late-game reliever for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2004 and 2005. Through 2008, Sanchez had a record of 18-10 with 212 strikeouts in the big leagues. With over 12 years of experience, Sanchez brings veteran leadership to the Skyhawks this season.
