The fleet-footed Boykin joins the River Bats after his third season in the Big East. As a sophomore he made 37 starts and hit .242 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 124 at-bats. He also stole 10 bases in 13 attempts. This spring, through 48 games, Boykin is hitting .276 with seven home runs, 29 RBIs and a team-high 15 stolen bases. Last summer Boykin joined the Sag Harbor Whalers of the Atlantic Coast Baseball League and was named to the all-star team. He hit .287 with four home runs and 14 RBI in 37 games and earned the all-star game MVP award with a 2-for-3 outing and big three-run home run. Boykin starred in baseball and football in high school and earned the Doug Davis Baseball Award for his dedication to the game.
