The powerful slugger is completing his freshman season in the Pac-10. This spring, Rodriguez has cracked the lineup mainly as a designated hitter. He crushed a grand slam in his first collegiate game on Feb. 19, a 14-0 win against Southern Utah. He swatted eight home runs and posted a .402 batting average during his senior season at William S. Hart High School. As a junior, Rodriguez amassed a school-record 21-game hitting streak and he was also a two-time First Team All-Foothill League selection. With a week left in the regular season, Rodriguez is hitting .316 (25-for-79) with one home run and 17 RBIs.
