Gac, 28, joins the Blue Crabs after spending this past year with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association. In 60 games with the Saltdogs, Gac hit .319 with 18 home runs and 63 RBIs in 261 plate appearances. The first basemen/ designated hitter lead Lincoln in home runs and RBIs and was near the top of every statistical category.
The 6’3”, 240-pound, right-handed hitting Gac began his career in the Texas Rangers organization in 2003 in Arizona Rookie League and was promoted to Class-A Clinton of the Midwest League in 2005. From 2007 to 2009, Gac went on to spend time with three other minor league affiliates of the Rangers before joining the Chicago White Sox organization in 2010. He spent 2010 and 2011 with Class-A Kannapolis and High-A Winston-Salem. He was later picked up by the Mississippi Braves of the Southern League in 2012 where he hit seven home runs with 35 RBIs.
The Seattle, WA native was drafted in the 26th round of the 2003 MLB Amateur Draft out of Edmonds-Woodway HS in Edmonds, Washington by the Texas Rangers.
