Fargo native and former North Dakota State standout Jake Laber returns to the RedHawks pitching rotation for a fifth season with the ballclub in 2013. In 2012, he was 7-7 with a 5.02 ERA in 20 starts for the RedHawks in 2012. He allowed 76 runs (64 earned) on 135 hits in 114.2 innings pitched. Laber struck out 57 batters and walked 57 batters.
Laber is entering his sixth season in professional baseball, three-plus of which have been spent with Fargo-Moorhead. His most impressive year came in 2011. That season Laber earned Pitcher of the Week honors on Aug.9, while going 10-7 overall with a 3.55 ERA. In his time as a RedHawk, Laber is 28-20 with a 4.21 ERA and a save. He has struck out 245 batters in 398 innings pitched
The RedHawks will rely on Laber to be a key starter on a pitching staff that comes off 2012 with the lowest team ERA’s among American Association teams.
