Tall southpaw Vince Davis joined Tucson in late June last season, and immediately became a force out of the Toros rotation. Davis went 5-2 down the stretch, leading all Toros starters with a 3.43 ERA. He allowed 3 or fewer earned runs in 9 of his 10 starts for Tucson. Davis played collegiately at Southern University, where he tied for the team lead with 8 wins in 2003. Davis, allowing with teammates like former 1st Rounder Rickie Weeks, helped the Jaguars to the College World Series regionals a Conference Championship. Davis was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 18th Round in 2004 and spent two years in the their organization while pitching at Missoula of the Pioneer League.
