Garner, 28, will begin his first season with the Blue Crabs in 2013 after spending much of the year with the Milwaukee Brewers Triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds of the Pacific Coast League (PCL). Through 71 games with the Sounds, the outfielder hit .192 with 8 HR and 29 RBI. The Long Beach, Ca native was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 26th round in 2003. After spending the better parts of seven years working his way up the Rockies system, Garner was considered to be one of the best prospects in the Colorado system. After hitting .330 with 8 Hr and 35 RBI in 46 games with AAA-Colorado Springs of the PCL, Garner was called up to make his Major League debut with the Rockiets on July 4th, 2011. In his second stint in the Majors, Cole picked up his first hit off of Ryan Matteus of the Washington Nationals. The right-handed throwing and hitting Garner was a switch-hitter during the 2007 season. During that season Cole hit .213 with 8 HR and 33 RBI. Cole is now exclusively a right-handed hitter.
