After 15 years playing minor league baseball, Alex Llanos joined the Sioux City Explorers staff as the hitting coach in 2010 and will hold the same role in 2011.
Llanos, spent the final four years of his playing career with the Explorers closing out last season with a .275 average. July 5th, 2009 was a highlight for Alex when he banged out his 1,000th career hit. Quite appropriately it was on a Sunday at Lewis and Clark Park and it came before the home fans and friends. Llanos finished his playing days with a career .299 batting average.
