Brown, who has four years of independent baseball under his belt, joins the Saltdogs as a free agent for the 2010 season. Chris Brown is in his fifth season of independent baseball, batting a career .288 with 61 doubles. He joins the AirHogs after spending the greater part of the first half of the 2010 season with the Lincoln Saltdogs. He played in 2009 with Sussex of the Can-Am League where he hit .272.
He made his professional debut in the Northern League with Joliet, in 2006. Brown started out as a third baseman that season, but the Jackhammers moved him to second base in 2007, and that has been his primary position ever since. In 2008, Brown moved on to Sussex in the Can-Am League, where he served as the starting second baseman each of the last two seasons.
Brown played his colligate ball at the University of South Carolina.
