Cullen was originally acquired by Lincoln in November of 2008, but the Pittsburgh Pirates organization purchased his contract a month later, and he spent all of 2009 at Class A Lynchburg as a reliever. He played his rookie year of 2008 with Edmonton in the Golden League, working mostly as a starter and allowing just three home runs in 56.1 innings pitched. After the ’08 season, Chris was traded twice in five days. He was first sent to Reno (in exchange for a former Saltdog, OF Gary Harris), then dealt to Lincoln. The righty played all four years of his college career at Michigan State.
