Snipes played college baseball at Tallahassee Community Collegebefore transferring to Troy University in Alabama. In two seasons with Troy, 2006 and 2007, Snipes accumulateda 5.18 ERA, 131 strikeouts, and a 13-6 record over 177 IP. In the 2007 MLB draft, the Kansas City Royals selectedSnipes in the 40thround, and he played part of 2007 with the Royalsrookie team. In 2008, Snipes joined the Pensacola Pelicans of theAmerican Association League. During that year he recorded a 7-6 record with a5.40 ERA and 68 strikeouts. In 2009, Snipes joined the El Paso Diablos and started 8games and finished the season with a 4.47 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 48.1 IP. The Diablos are hoping he adds on to his 2009 totals en route to a league championship.
