Migl played at Texas A&M and was a 34th round draft pick of the Houston Astros in the 2009 MLB draft. Playing with Grenneville of the rookie Appalachian League, Migl made 11 appearances, striking out 17 batters in 19.2 innings. He then moved up to Tri-City where he made eight appearances with seven strikouts in 8.2 innings pitched.
