In 2009, Callender played for three different teams in the Rays' organization, going 5-3 in 18 appearances while striking out 33.
Selected by Tampa Bay Rays in 21st Round of 2006 amateur entry draft. Played college ball at Texas Tech University and Vernon College, and is a graduate of Arlington Bowie High School.
