Flores makes his independent professional debut this season after spending three years with the Tampa Bay Rays organization. He held his opponents to a .269 average in that time. Flores won a national championship with New Mexico Junior College in 2005 and appeared in the College World Series in 2007 with Arizona State University.

2008: Spent majority of the season as a starter for Class A Columbus ... posted a 9-7 record with a 4.19 ERA in 29 games, 21 of which were starts ... won four straight starts in May, posting a 1.22 ERA.
