Figueroa was drafted in the 7th round of the 1999 draft by the Colorado Rockies. He played two years in their rookie organization before spending two years in A-ball with Portland, Asheville and Tri City.
He began his independent baseball career in the Northern league in 2002 with Pennsylvania and Brockton. After a stint with Rio Grande Valley in 2003, Figueroa migrated over to Amarillo that same season and returned for the 2004 season, hitting .331 with two homers and 17 RBIs in just 41 games.
Following the Dillas hiatus in 2005 where he spent a season in Coastal Bend, Figueroa returned to the Dillas in 2006. Following a year hiatus in 2008, Figueroa returns for his sixth season with the Dillas.
He has a career .297 batting average as a professional, but is hitting .324 as a Dillas with 16 homeruns and 199 RBI coming into 2010. All three of his previous seasons in the ULB have seen him with over 100 hits.
