Michael Roth is a sophomore first baseman/left-handed pitcher for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. In his second season for the Gamecocks, Roth saw more time on the mound than in the field posting an 0-1 record, with a 1.45 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 18.2 innings pitched. In his freshman season, Roth pitched out of the pen for South Carolina. Spent the summer of 2009 with the Sanford Mainers playing first base, hitting .277 with one homerun and 24 RBI. Native of Greer, South Carolina, Roth played his high school ball at Riverside High School. 2006 & 2008 South Carolina AAA All-State team, 2006 & 2007 Louisville Slugger High School All-American, 2008 Big League World Series Champion.
