Marlon Calbi is a Sophomore middle infielder for the Villanova University Wildcats. In his second year with the Wildcats, Calbi appeared in 51 of 52 games, starting 50. In 165 at-bats, he hit .248 with 41 hits and 20 RBI. The middle infielder was hit by 12 pitches at the plate and committed 18 errors in the field. In 2009, he appeared in 43 games with 33 starts. Hit .238 for the season and ranked third on the team with six sacrifice bunts. Went 3-for-4 with the bases loaded and hit .300 with runners in scoring position. Calbi is one of three Wildcat baseball players that also play for the university’s football team. On the gridiron, he has appeared in 27 career games, including 14 this past season as the holder on kickoffs and point-after attempts. Native of Montclair, New Jersey, he lettered four years in baseball as a shortstop and three years in football as a quarterback at Montclair High School. Majoring in communications.
