Returns to Newport after helping lead the Gulls to the 2009 league championship. Bentrott played in 25 games for Newport, starting 23, and batted .217. Was third on the team in hit by pitches, second in sacrifice bunts and third in assists. Recorded team-high 8 assists versus the Pittsfield Defenders on July 12th. In 2010, David started 52 of his team’s 56 games, batting .299 with 8 doubles and an OBP of .392. David also made just 8 errors all season. In his first season at the University of Washington Bentrott batted .254 with 1 homerun, 10 runs batted in, and 6 stolen bases. In his second season he batted .224 with 5 homeruns. David was born in Seattle to Beth and Martin Bentrott. He has two siblings, an older brother, Brandon, and a younger sister, Kelly. His grandfather rowed for the University of Washington and his cousin played football at Stanford. David is also teammates with Gulls outfielder Sean Meehan and pitcher Geoff Brown at the University of Washington.
