Freshman southpaw Jimmy McNamara comes to the Oilmen a highly decorated high school arm and future star at Central Michigan University.
McNamara threw 56 1/3 innings thsi past spring over 18 appearances and five starts. He posted a 3.67 ERA and one save while walking 17 and striking out 39.
McNamara's high school career at Lake Central is well-documented. He was ranked the #20 player in Indiana according to prepbaseballreport.com. In 2011, he was also an All-Indiana Top 20 Midwest Crossroads Baseball Series selection, and was named all-state by Prep Baseball Report after going 7-1 with a 0.79 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched as a junior.
