One of four left-handed options for the UC San Diego baseball team, sophomore Trevor Scott will make the cross-country trip to North Adams for the summer of 2013.
Joining teammate Garrett Tuck and continuing the SteepleCat-UCSD connection, Scott will look to bolster the North Adams pitching staff and provide yet another left-handed option. This spring with the Tritons, Scott finished with a 1-4 record over 11 appearances (six starts) and 28 1/3 frames, striking out 21 and walking 11 the rest of the way.
Those numbers followed a strong freshman season when he drew 10 starts among 18 appearances and held opponents to a team-best .208 batting average against. Last summer, Scott made eight appearances (3-1, 5.06 ERA) for the LA Brewers of the California Collegiate League (CCL), and enjoyed a previous summer stint with Elite Baseball and the Renegades.
The son of Harold (who also attended UCSD) and Jo Ann Scott, Trevor has an older brother (Gavin) and is majoring in bioengineering with goals to attend medical school and become a surgeon.
