Majewski returns to the Atlantic League looking to make it a fourth straight season that his play earns him an affiliated contract. In 2008, Majewski used a spectacular first half with the Newark Bears to earn a contract with the Houston Astros, going on to play at Double-A Corpus Christi and Triple-A Round Rock that year. In 2009, Majewski’s performance through the first month with the Camden Riversharks led to his signing with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, where he was assigned to Double-A Arkansas. Last season, Majewski began the year in York, hitting .328 through 31 games and ranking among league leaders in several offensive categories. That caught the attention of the Oakland Athletics, who purchased his contract on May 27 and assigned him to Double-A Midland. He is a career .342 hitter in the Atlantic League.
Majewski was a third round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 2002, and reached the majors in 2004, promoted straight from Double-A Bowie in the same season that he received the Brooks Robinson Award as the Orioles’ Minor League Player of the Year. Majewski participated in the MLB Futures Game at Houston’s Minute Maid Park that season, and was named an Eastern League All-Star in both 2004 and 2007 while in the Orioles farm system.
