Cole Green is a former University of Texas pitcher who last threw for Dayton in the Reds organization in 2012 where he was 1-0 in 19 appearances out of the bullpen. Selected in the 9th round of the 2011 draft by the Cincinnati Reds, Green pitched for Billings in the Pioneer League that season, going 4-1 with a 4.24 ERA in 34 innings of work.
Green pitched at Coppell High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex before heading to Austin to pitch for the Longhorns. As a freshman at UT, the right-hander earned honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference honors. Green had a breakout year as a junior, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors, winning Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year after going 11-2 with a 2.74 ERA in 111 innings pitched. He was selected in the 4th round of the 2010 draft by the Detroit Tigers, but decided to return to the University of Texas for his senior season.
