Pablo Bermudez is a centerfielder who will be making his Florence Freedom debut in 2013. Bermudez was born and raised in Miami Shores, Florida, where he attended and played baseball at Miami Springs Senior High School. He then went on to attend Florida International University. In his freshman year at Florida International, he batted .313 in 163 at bats, scored 32 runs, and collected 51 hits, 11 doubles, and 26 runs batted in. Bermudez managed to improve on these numbers in his sophomore year, scoring 69 runs and totalling 85 hits, 15 doubles, and 52 runs batted in while maintaining a season batting average of .332. In his junior season, Bermudez was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year after collecting 87 hits, 16 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs, and 37 runs batted in while batting .373 on the season. Many believed his play would convince a major league team to select him in the 2011 draft, but Bermudez went undrafted and returned to Florida International for his senior season. As a senior, Bermudez scored 47 runs and amassed 66 hits, 14 doubles, and 25 runs batted in while batting .310.
