Justice French is a 23 year old pitcher from Suwanee, Georgia. The 6'4" right hander graduated from Collins Hill High School, where he was named First Team All-Region for his efforts on the baseball field during his junior and senior seasons, and the Region Pitcher of the Year during his senior season. In 2008, French enrolled at Mercer University to play for their baseball team. As a freshman, he appeared in 27 games in relief situations only, but became a full time starter during his sophomore year. Statistically, French's most successful year was his senior year, when he started 14 games, earned a 6-2 record, and finished with a 3.26 ERA through 80 innings pitched. He graduated from Mercer with a career record of 12-12 with a 5.43 ERA and 148 strikeouts in 237 innings pitched over 72 games. The Cincinnati Reds drafted French in the 25th round of the 2011 MLB Draft, and he spent the 2011 season playing in the Arizona League for rookies. He went 4-4 in 10 starts in the Arizona League before moving up to the Dayton Dragons in 2012, the A level affiliate team of the Reds. French appeared in only 6 games for the Dragons before being promoted to the A+ level affiliate team of the Reds, the Bakersfield Blaze. French appeared in 22 games for the Blaze and ended the 2012 season with a 3.94 ERA. He then signed with the Freedom in 2013.
