Satterwhite, a Jackson, MS native, was a second round draft pick by the Detroit Tigers in the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of Mississippi. He spent three seasons in the Tigers organization before suffering an arm injury that sidelined him for the 2012 season.
His best year came in 2009 when he spent the season with the Tigers double-A affiliate, the Erie Seawolves. That year he posted a 3.47 earned run average, allowing 19 earned runs in 49.1 innings pitched, while striking out 52 batters and collecting 12 saves.
In his three seasons of professional baseball, the 6’4” right-hander has accumulated a 3.60 earned run average over 62 appearances, while striking out 86 batters in 80 innings pitched.
